TV or Not TV is episode 44 of Round The Twist.

Summary[]

The Twist kids can't decide what television they should watch- Pete only wants to watch footy hero Rick Rockshaw, Linda is fascinated with roving reporter Mary Moore and Bronson idolizes private investigator Jack Geddes. After an argument between the three of them, Tony confiscates the TV remote whilst he and Fay go to get a video of their baby's ultrasound scan.

Unable to resist watching their favourite shows, the Twist kids each sneak their own remote from upstairs and start to channel surf on the main television. This constant back-and-forth with the remotes eventually causes the TV to explode and transform the kids into their idols (complete with their own personalities).

Pete takes part in a school footy game as Rick Rockshaw but his attempts to dominate the game and kiss Fiona aren't met with a positive response from the team. Meanwhile Bronson goes undercover to expose Gribble's dumping of toxic waste whilst Linda, as Mary Moore, tries to expose the Gribble Condominium scandal. Eventually all three kids are chased back to the lighthouse and, after using their remotes again, are confronted by the real versions of their idols who zap them into their telly.

The Twists realise that they are now trapped in TV-land whilst their idols are free to explore the real world. Desperate for a way to escape, each of the kids finds out the truth about their "heroes"- Rick Rockshaw is in reality a dumb jock who wears a wig, Mary Moore has never set foot outside the studio and is superimposed into real life surroundings and Jack Geddes relies on a stunt double for all his fights. The Twist kids go on TV to confront their heroes who threaten to permanently cancel them but Tony arrives back just in time and switches off the TV. Unfortunately, he then proceeds to play the ultrasound tape which transforms all the family into screaming babies.
